How to Sell on Yardsellr

Now I want to give you the Basics on Selling on Yardsellr. I’ll be diving into more detailed topics over time so let me know what you want to hear about and we’ll address it in a future post.

So you want to make a million dollars over night? Well, don’t we all. We may not be able to make you a millionaire over night, but Yardsellr has helped people time after time to get a little extra spending cash. For example, Monty Gentry saved his Yardsellr earnings for a few months and was able to buy a BRAND NEW monitor. Woo hoo! We love to hear stories like this. Way to go Monty!

Now before you count your chickens like Monty  , lets set up a good process to help you sell your items:

STEP 1: Gather and take photos of all the items you want to sell.

Here are a few samples of things I am selling on Yardsellr.

Step 2: Now go to http://yardsellr.com/sell

This is where you will list your cool stuff to sell.

Step 3: Write Title, Price and Description

Ok, now its up to you. Come up with a Title that fits your item and a fair Price for the buyer.

Description: A great description can be crucial to getting an item to sell. Give a little history about the item and let your personality shine through in your writing. This can only help your item sell. Be sure to list all the features, bells and whistles and any other fun facts about your items.  Buyers appreciate the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.

Step 4: Adding Photos to your Listing

Adding a Photo is easy with Yardsellr. First click Add Photo. The Add Photos screen will pop up.

There are two ways to add photos:

Photo Option 1: On the right is a photo uploader which you may be use to. Click BROWSE and after you find the photo on your computer click UPLOAD. (below)

Photo Option 2: The other option is to email photos from a computer or a mobile device. On the left hand side of the window is your own personalized email address. You can even personalize this email address!

Once you find the address, you can email multiple photos for multiple items. Be sure the photos are attachments and then email them to the email that is given to you on that top left part of the Add Photos screen. The email will end with @yardsellr.com (same image below)

Now pick the photo you want associated with the item you’re currently trying to sell.

Step 5: Payment Options

When your item sells we can pay you in one of two ways, either 1) a check from Yardsellr or 2) with PayPal.

A check from Yardsellr comes with no fees and usually arrives within a week of an item being sold and shipped. The second option is PayPal which has regular fees charged by PayPal, but no additional Fees from Yardsellr.

Step 6: Delivery Options

Last, but not least is to indicate how you’re item will be delivered. You can choose one or two options. 1)  ’Meet up near’ This is an option for heavier goods that can’t easily or inexpensively be shipped. After the transaction you will work with the buyer to pick a mutually convenient place for delivery of your item. 2)  ’Ship/mail’ – where you will input a reasonable shipping charge for your item.

Step 7: Click the ‘Sell Now’ button

That is all there is to it. The first item will be pretty quick to list and all that follow will be like riding a bike. You’ll only get faster and better at listing items with time.

When you’re done…click  to complete the listing.

1) A Featured Post  There are 3 ways to get to the item on Yardsellr a) The link that looks like this http://yardsellr.com/1234 b) The BOLD, BLUE link that is the Title of the item c) The picture of the item Now go to Step 5 below
2) A Photo Album You may see a photo album from Yardsellr in your Facebook feed then click on the picture. Continue to Step 3
3) Click on the link underneath the image to get to the item on yardsellr.com.
4) The item you are looking for will be in the middle of the screen. Just click on the blue title.
5) Once you arrive at the item click the big, orange button ‘Buy Now!’ on the right hand side of the page.

Thats all there is to it . . . Quick, SImple, Easy . . . click, click, click and its yours!!

How to get Photon$

Photon$ are like money that you can use to buy anything on Yardsellr! You can win Photon$ by taking certain actions on Yardsellr.com. These actions are always changing and are very similar to a treasure hunt. Look for the $ for opportunities to win Photon$.


Find something you want to spend your Photon$ on? Great! Click “Buy Now” and check the box to apply your Photon$ balance to the price of the item. The price for shipping (if the seller charges shipping) and the Yardsellr slice must be paid either by a credit card, debit card or PayPal.


Sellers: when a buyer purchases an item using Photon$ you can rest assured you will be paid for the full price of the item. The cost of Photon$ are covered by Yardsellr, they’re our way of saying thank you to our loyal customers!


What you should know about Photon$:


- You can check the status of your Photon$ balance at the top of Yardsellr.com


- Photon$ have a “half-life” which means they will decay whenever you aren’t using them.


- Photon$ are meant as a fun reward as members naturally browse, sell or buy on Yardsellr. You can think of winning Photon$ as a treasure hunt – the hunt will change up from time to time to keep things interesting.


- There are limits to the number of Photon$ that can be won in a day, if you do not see the $ you may have reached your daily limit

How to Start a Yardsellr Account

Starting a Yardsellr account is actually quite easy. Although it is free to list and sell items on Yardsellr, there two requirements for starting a Yardsellr account:

1. You must have a Facebook account
2. You must live in the United States
